Ragdoll Cancel

Ragdoll cancel is the most important defensive technique in Jujutsu Shenanigans. When an opponent's attack puts you in ragdoll stun, press dash (Q) while holding M1 toward them to break out and potentially counter-attack. This input consumes dash cooldown and applies a separate 15-second cooldown when used as a ragdoll cancel specifically.

Without ragdoll cancel, Styles like Perfection, Ten Shadows, and awakened Vessel can infinite combo you from full HP to zero. Learning this technique is non-negotiable for any player who wants to survive public Shinjuku lobbies.

Dash Canceling

Dash cancel cuts the recovery frames of certain skills by activating dash mid-animation. This lets you reposition after unsafe moves or extend pressure when an opponent expects recovery time. Blood Manipulator uses dash cancel after Supernova to close distance for M1 strings. Switcher combines dash cancel with Boogie Woogie for unpredictable swap angles.

Not every skill is dash cancelable — test each move in a private server. Successful dash cancels often define high-tier combo routes listed on Style-specific pages.

Evasive Baiting

Every player has a limited evasive with cooldown. Baiting evasive means feinting pressure to make opponents burn their escape, then punishing during cooldown. Throw a single M1, back off, and re-engage when they evasive whiff. Honored One players bait evasive before Lapse Blue MAX for guaranteed follow-ups.

Against experienced players, mix feint patterns. Repeatedly M1-tapping without committing trains opponents to hold evasive, opening them to grab skills like Black Death's Chokehold or Cursed Partners' Outburst.

Block Timing & Attack Types

Block (F) reduces damage but does not stop all attack types. The 10-counter system means specific moves beat specific attack categories — Melee, Bullet, Explosion, Swarm, and Domain. Blocking a move that breaks guard leads to guard-break combos. Use our attack type counter tool to learn which opponent skills ignore or break block.

Perfect block timing on certain frames reflects projectiles — critical against True Cannon beams and Blood Manipulator's Piercing Blood spam in neutral.

Combo Extension & Oki

Oki (okizeme) refers to pressure applied as opponents stand up from knockdown. After a downslam M1 finisher, hold forward and time your next M1 to catch their wake-up. Ten Shadows and Perfection excel at oki due to wide hitbox coverage on skills like Idle Transfiguration and Divine Dogs.

Combo extension uses dash, M1 resets, and awakening activation to push damage beyond standard routes. The V1.76 Yuta rework added Second Wind specifically for combo extension — see our Yuta rework guide for video demonstrations.
