Vessel Overview
The Vessel represents Yuji Itadori before awakening and Sukuna after. This S-tier rushdown Style rewards aggressive M1 pressure, fast skill cooldowns, and timely awakening activation. Divergent Fist is one of the fastest combo starters in the game with low cooldown, making the Vessel a terror in extended neutral exchanges.
Base moveset: Divergent Fist (combo starter), Manji Kick (launcher), Cleave (slashing pressure), Dismantle (finisher). Sukuna awakening enhances Cleave and Dismantle while adding Malevolent Shrine domain — the highest burst damage awakening in the roster.
Base Combos
Standard pressure: 4 M1 → Divergent Fist → Manji Kick → Cleave → Dismantle. This route maximizes damage without awakening and leaves opponents at kill range for the next engagement.
Launcher route: 3 M1 Uppercut → Cleave → Dismantle + Awakening. Uppercut M1 creates vertical launch for air Cleave follow-ups. Activate awakening mid-combo to swap into Sukuna's enhanced kit before the opponent lands.
Sukuna Awakening
Sukuna awakening transforms the Vessel into the King of Curses. Enhanced Cleave and Dismantle deal significantly more damage with extended hitboxes. Malevolent Shrine domain creates a slashing zone that shreds grouped opponents in public lobbies.
Awakening timing is critical — activating too early wastes burst on full-HP opponents who still have evasive. Bait evasive with single M1 taps, then commit full Divergent Fist into Manji Kick into awakening Cleave for guaranteed damage.
Advanced Pressure
The Vessel excels at frame trapping: after Manji Kick, delay your next M1 to catch opponents who mash evasive on wake-up. Dash cancel after Dismantle whiff to avoid punish. In team fights, target low-HP opponents for quick kills rather than extended 1v1 trades.
Matchup note: Honored One's Lapse Blue beats reckless Divergent Fist approaches. Feint approach, block Lapse Blue, punish with Manji Kick. Against Perfection, do not block Idle Transfiguration — dash or evasive instead.
