A-Tier Overview
A-tier Styles are fully competitive picks that trade slightly with S-tier in neutral or lack one dimension of dominance — but excel in specific matchups or skill expressions. Many A-tier mains consistently reach top leaderboard positions.
The V1.76 update elevated Cursed Partners and introduced Black Death to A-tier. True Cannon's free release added a strong beam clash specialist to the tier.
Cursed Partners & Black Death
Cursed Partners (Yuta/Rika) received a full V1.76 rework with Severing Flash, Resolute Slash, Second Wind, and True Love Beam dealing 117 damage awakened. Copy Wheel in Rika form copies enemy abilities for unpredictable counter-play. Black Death (Kurourushi) builds a parasite meter on sword hits for burst windows and offers three awakening variants including domain break.
Both Styles reward aggressive combo routing. Yuta excels at extension; Kurourushi excels at meter management and Roach Swarm pressure.
True Cannon & Speed Styles
True Cannon (Ryu) delivers Granite Blast and Maximum Output beam damage with the overhauled Beam Clashing minigame. Strong against zoning Styles when beam clash is mastered. Head of Hei (Naoya) uses Projection Sorcery for afterimage rushdown and paralysis — counters passive Honored One players who rely on spacing.
Crow Charmer (Mei Mei) provides bird tracking and Birdstorm burst. Aspiring Mangaka (Charles) uses G Gamer panel mechanics for conditional damage spikes.
When to Pick A-Tier
Choose A-tier when you want a Style that counters the current S-tier meta or fits a specific playstyle. Black Death punishes block-heavy opponents. True Cannon wins beam wars. Cursed Partners adapts via Copy Wheel. A-tier is not a consolation prize — it is where specialist mains thrive.
